Metrology systems are bound by the laws of physics just as your products are. This means that better materials, electronics, lenses, and cameras result in higher-performance. It also means that there are a tremendous number of trade-offs that can be exercised to find just the right solution for you.
As an example, better cameras result in higher accuracy, but at a higher cost. Which cameras are the right choice? Well, that depends on your tolerances, cycle time, environment, lighting conditions, and budget. We have designed systems using 0.5 Megapixels, 1 Megapixel, 4 Megapixels, 16 Megapixels, and 50 Megapixels. You can bet that each of these systems had very different requirements...which is exaclty how it should be.
To make the most of these components, we run optimizers and simulators before a single piece of hardware is plugged in. Then, we vigorously test and stress the system to expose its limits, and ensure that it performs as required by your application. In short, we build systems to meet your requirements.
